Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Bagsy app ("Bagsy", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Bagsy is a travel packing assistant that helps you plan trips and pack the right things with weather-smart suggestions.

No account required

Bagsy has no sign-up, login, or password. You do not give us your email address or any social login. Instead, your data is linked to a random identifier generated on your device so your content can sync and stay associated with your app.

Information we collect

A device identifier. A random, app-generated ID (not tied to your real-world identity) used to store and retrieve your data.
The name you enter. Optionally provided during onboarding so the app can greet you. You can change or clear it any time in Settings.
Your trips and packing data. Trip names, destinations you search for, dates, bags, packing lists, your personal item catalog, and places you pin on your travel map.
Onboarding progress. How far you got through the onboarding flow, and preferences you selected there, so we can improve the experience.
Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, handled through our payments provider (RevenueCat and the Apple App Store).

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or health data.

How your data is stored

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), a cloud database operated by Google. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google's infrastructure. Destination search is powered by Apple Maps; weather suggestions are generated from public weather data for the destinations you add.

How we use your data

To provide the core app: saving your trips, lists and map, and syncing them to your device.
To personalize suggestions (for example, weather-based packing recommendations).
To understand, in aggregate, how far users get through onboarding so we can improve the app.
To manage your subscription and access to paid features.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Third-party services

Google Firebase / Firestore — cloud storage of your app data.
RevenueCat & Apple App Store — subscription management and billing.
Apple MapKit — destination and place search.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

Data retention & deletion

Your data remains stored until you delete it. You can erase everything at any time from Settings → Delete all data, which removes your trips, items and pinned places. Because there is no account, uninstalling the app will also disconnect you from your stored data on that device.

Children

Bagsy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
